Treatment Notes

Before performing a shirodhara treatment, warm 2 to 8 cups of Shirodhara Oil to 98-104 degrees.

The shirokarma treatment incorporates about 10-15 minutes of shirodhara in a 90-minute treatment. The amount of oil used depends on the flow. We suggest using 150 mL oil (5 fl. oz.) in 10-15 minutes, but with a higher flow rate, you could easily double it. 

A full shirodhara treatment with an ayurvedic doctor present would use about 2 liters (half a gallon or about 8 cups).
